We had to replace the inner shaft that runs through the chopper on our 2012 8120. The left side went back together fine, but on the right side we ran into trouble when we slipped on the hub for the two speed elevator pulley. Our old shaft had a ledge on it that a cupped spring loaded washer (kind of like what is on some lawn mower blade bolts to keep the blade tight) slipped on and the hub went tight against that. The new shaft doesn't have that ledge. I can't find a part detail on the CaseIH parts website that shows what we had on the combine originally. It doesn't show that washer at all and also doesn't show a backing ring that we have that reinforces the pulley where the bolts go through it to the hub. I know they have updated this shaft, but I thought the updates were on the left side. Anybody have an idea whether our new shaft is actually less updated than our combine already was or is this shaft newer and we should go this route?

I have attached a picture of 20 series you can open.
The second pic is the 40 series.

As long as you are not missing any parts it should be the same.

Should be the same. Even looking at the 10 series to the 30 series.

As long as you have the pasts that are in the diagram it should fit together.

From what I can remember the newer shaft were make stronger so they wouldn't break on the right side too.

If you have the added washer you might have the wrong shaft if it has been updated before? You might have to find the history of the combine if previously owned.

Thank you. We got sent the old style shaft. Don't know why they are even around. Went clear back to the earliest 8010's and they even sub up to the new shaft like the 8230's have. The new shaft was original on 8120's model year 2010 and above , serial number 209067 and above.
