My 8120 has the following versions of software installed

Framework 16.4.0.0
BSP 2.5.0.0
Combine Axial Flow 16.5.0.0
Precision Farming 16.3.0.0
Display Defaults 16.1.0.0
Printer DLL 16.1.0.0
Autoguidance 16.4.0.0
Yield Monitor 16.4.0.0

I see that there is version 21 now and there is talk of a newer version coming soon. My combine is less than 12 months old and was just wondering if I am entitled to software upgrades from my dealer and for how long are you entitled to upgrades or is this something you have to pay for. Is it a good idea to have the software upgraded? Thanks!

yes, the software upgrade is a very good idea.

no, you are not entitled to any updates, unless they are released as part of a service campaign or update program to fix a known issue. Then CIH pays the dealer to do the updates. Otherwise it's between you and your dealer to work out how much he's going to charge. (At least currently, and in North America.)
