Just wondering if anyone that has a chaff spreader on an 860 if they have used the extra pump on the side of the combine to run it or have put a seperate system on. On my machine the pickup or reels for straight cut header is run off this hydraulic pump and don,t know if it would also be able to run a chaff spreader. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Neighbour of mine has a 850 with a chaff spreader that is run from the pump on the side.

Tee it into the hydraulic reel drive hoses & will be fine. The only thing is the chaff spreader will not run until the reel is turning (if on automatic reel speed) & will plug when just the machine is running.
