893 cornhead variable speed
I have a ,98 JD 9510 with a ,96 JD 893 8row 30" cornhead with variable speed. At 5 mph with the variable speed at top end (700 rpm backshaft speed I think), My gathering chains are hardly running fast enough.I under stand you can change the gear ratio 2 or 3 ways by switching sprockets on the side chains in the oil bath.I would sure like some details how and how much it would speed it up.
