Universal on the articulation driveline?
I suspect there might have been a fatality while roading. When the U-joint lets go it knocks out the steering valve stack and a lot of other hydraulic components, so you'll suddenly have no steering. maybe no brakes. If this happens on the road you're in serious trouble. The PIP was a casting to contain the shaft when it goes to prevent all that. If you don't have that PIP, talk to you dealer. Even if it costs you money, you should have it. Deere still recommends never exceeding 17th gear. And inspect the u-joints yearly. Which reminds me there's a grease fitting on the slide part of the shaft that is hard to get to with the PIP casting installed that I still need to grease this year.I think there was a lawsuit down in the states about it. Don’t know the whole story.
