Can a 936d be fitted to a 97 model 9600. Does much have to be changed regarding hydraulics and electrics

It can be done. One thing to think about is the lift cylinder capacity of the 9600, its not strong enough. Youll have to adapt the drive shaft to fit your chain coupling since you dont have 50/60 series splined shaft. Electrical issues can be overcome easily. The draper speed control is the same type of system that changes your reel speed. Iven a three way toggle switch could do the trick in a pinch. Open up the cover on the left side of the the feeder opening on the draper, its the box above the gearcase and youll see the electric valve that is the same setup as your reel speed controller on the 9600.

Macdon solved the whole chain coupling deal, they have a part used on the Macdon 972s that bolts a spline onto the sprocket and works very well. It is the same spline as the 60 series combines so it should be work with a JD header.
