So I bought a 1243 corn head for my 9600 this weekend. My 9600 is a 1994 and is supposed to be a corn machine by the serial number from the factory. It also has fluid in the rear tires for the extra weight. I got the header off of the trailer, but can only lift it up off of the ground 1/2 to 2/3 up. I set the accumulator like the chart says. I measured the cylinders. They are 3 inches across the barrel and 2 1/8 - 2 1/4 more or less on the shaft. Why can't I lift the header up all of the way? Do I have the wrong cylinders? Thanks for any and all help.

This thread is pertinent to my interests...

The big cylinders are 2 3/8 shaft. According to the parts list there are 2 different ones for each size depending on serial number. Since my 92 is later than the break your 94 would be too, so you would need AH129319. I checked for current price and it said no longer available... I bet cylinders can be found a lot cheaper than JD anyway. Or maybe the ones from the newer machines work?
