I am wanting advice on wether to use the the concave cover plates (green metal straps which wrap around the concave cage) on JD 9670. My dealer said they weren't necessary due to being in high rainfall area where we can usually keep the header full in 3-5t crops, however some other guys say you need them. Harvesting mostly wheat and barley.
We use them in our 9670's in Western Australia on one particular wheat variety that is hard to thresh (Mace) don't need them for the other varieties. Put them in first 2 slots and then fifth (I think)
