9670 Concave Cover Plates

Hi,

I am wanting advice on wether to use the the concave cover plates (green metal straps which wrap around the concave cage) on JD 9670. My dealer said they weren't necessary due to being in high rainfall area where we can usually keep the header full in 3-5t crops, however some other guys say you need them. Harvesting mostly wheat and barley.

If recommended, whereabouts do you put them?

K. I'm calling your bluff on this one! I'm pretty green, but these sweeping generalizations are borderline nuts. And like I used to tell the guys on the high school basketball team I used to coach, if you use the terms ALWAYS or NEVER you're trying too hard to convince yourself. :eek:
