I'd keep 3 on hand just in case. They aren't that expensive and they are easy to install, particularly compared to changing concaves. To install by yourself, hook the left side in place, snag the u-bolt on the divider between the augers, go around to the right side, lift and latch.
9670 Concave Cover Plates
Hi,
I am wanting advice on wether to use the the concave cover plates (green metal straps which wrap around the concave cage) on JD 9670. My dealer said they weren't necessary due to being in high rainfall area where we can usually keep the header full in 3-5t crops, however some other guys say you need them. Harvesting mostly wheat and barley.
If recommended, whereabouts do you put them?
