9670 Concave Cover Plates

Hi,

I am wanting advice on wether to use the the concave cover plates (green metal straps which wrap around the concave cage) on JD 9670. My dealer said they weren't necessary due to being in high rainfall area where we can usually keep the header full in 3-5t crops, however some other guys say you need them. Harvesting mostly wheat and barley.

If recommended, whereabouts do you put them?

Cheers

Good luck with the inserts, our wheat this year has been hard to thresh.
Lots of whitecaps, and over 4% dock at the elevator.

Then we put in inserts in the small wire concaves. Put them in 1 and 2, and
then in #5 under the return. The results were much the same, did not help
much at all, and the grain was dryer. New threshing elements, and great
concaves.

Good luck, mine was not.

What is the secret to grinding out the wheat with the Deere ?
