My 9770 started blowing oil out the breather last night. 5 gallons in 6 hours. What are some of the prices people have seen for overhauls and why don't more long blocks get used v.s. Having local techs rebuild them.

gonna say, maybe get it looked at first, unless you have a hole the side, fixing your existing one might be your best option.

I just quoted an overhaul for a customer at 11k. John Deere kit and labor excludes any machine work if it needs it.
