Just was having a chat with a buddy who runs a 9770, and he said that their 9770 just got out of the shop, because the sleeve had turned in the motor. He said that the local JD dealers have a whole bunch of these with the same problem....4 at one dealer, 3 at another ,and 2 at another, all with in a 50 mile radius. Is this a problem all over, or just a coincidence.?

We have a 9670 with same problem need new short block. In hospital at current moment Deere is covering motor because it is still within two year warranty. Our dealer has done 3 9770 motors with same issue. 2 they were able to just shim sleeves to proper spec's and one needed new short block. Our 9670 needs new short block cause block is to far out off spec to just shim and stay within spec's. I was told deere had a problem with jig on early nine litre motors from factory not sure if problem is wide spred or not but there does appear to be a few out there.

I know of two around here that got new cranks in them, plus one had headgasket done on it. One was an early 08 in its second season, other was late model 08 in its first season, heard it burned to the ground doing sunflowers 5 days ago.
