Does anyone use the perforated boots, doors and clean grain cross auger trough in corn?
How does it work. Does it take most of the fines out so I wouldn't have to screen at the
dryer? I would have to take off the protection shielding to do this.
we have used them in peas to try and sift the dirt out. they do work fairly well for that and are not that hard to put on. the clean grain and tailings elevators are just a matter of knocking a pin out, the cross auger trough needs a few bolts to be undone and really need another guy to help lift it into place.
We use them in corn. My combine partner fills a small dryer set up every year and ended up removing his screener as he was not getting enough screenings out of it to put up with the headache. Of course, you still have to try and do a good job of threashing so not to create many fines in the first place.
