was wondering if anyone used the 9770sts on a 12 row 612c chopping head this last year, i am wondering if the stock horsepower was enough to run it satisfactory or did u chip it?

Yes, it did fine. Not a lot of hills here in Southern Minnesota. Still eat a drive belt once in awhile (for the feederhouse) but next year the 5 speed gearbox is available on the 9770. They had a few trash issues, but we put in dividers every other row to cut down on the windrowing. It would throw it all to the right (as you sit in the combine) and then the plow would plug. Not problem with a disk ripper, but 90% of the ground is plowed for corn on corn.

allright collegeboy thanks for the onfo, were have a 9670sts on order and a new chopping head 12 row, we plan on chipping so if u had good luck wiht your 9770 stock im not to worried anymore.

thanks for the info, where in mn are u, IM near Olivia
