I'm no expert but I think if you maximize the contact area of the tires to the ground you will decrease the pounds per square inch hopefully cutting down on compaction, less passes will also. I know the operator prefers the duals over the logger tires on their last 2 combines. On cold mornings when transporting, the logger tires weren't a smooth ride until they warmed up.
