I have a 1010 header with hyd fore and aft.

My 1480 does not have that option.

What are some easy options for installing it on my combine?

I was thinking of a diverter valve of some kind on the lift circuit.

Ideas?

I dont think you can use the lift curcuit because it should be single acting ( pressure one way gravity return). Couldnt you stack another valve and plumbing. Then install a 3 way switch in cab? Did 1480s have fore and aft from factory or was that later?

Adding a valve to the stack is a disaster, I have one set up that way and need move to a diverter valve, I have to put it where I want it and unhook it, its kind of an interesting valve thats for sure, when I swing my auger out it causes the reel to move one direction or the other. Tried configuring it a couple diff ways with no success.

My other 2 have a divereter valve tied to the unloading auger and it works well, I will be digging the combines out of the shed soon, brother started them all up today, if ya want pics and plumbing I can help ya with that

I moved the auger switch to the right hand console and put in a push button beside it. Than for fun I installed a propulsion handle for a macdon swather to have my header and reel controls together

For/aft was not an option on the 1400's, maybe on the case IH ones but not that I am awear of

Looking into putting this option on our 1460 someday since its also used for hydraulic deck plates on a corn head which might come in handy if I can get a different one eventually.

Wonder how the 1600's had it set up? If that was on the stack it shouldn't have made things that whacky... Maybe they have to be in a certain order? I know when the auger is being moved on ours the auto header height basically stops working until the auger switch is let go of due to the way the oil flows through the stack.

Might be simpler to use a diverter rather than adding to the stack depending on how its done.

I had this situation several years back. All I did was mount a double acting pump jack off a press. Bolted it to the header and when I needed to move the reel back and forth you just pumped the handle. The jack had its own resevoir. Cheap and easy. You really don't need to move the reel backward and forward much I've found unless you are switching crops.

I did this ones on a Case IH 1660.I got a complete set from gratton coulee. It was a used hydraulic valve (was yellow,so probebley came of a New Holland) a new hose and a new switch for in the cab. Combine was prewired, and just added the valve to the stack of other valves. This was 13 years ago so I don't know the exact details.

Ok, I have not got them out of the shed yet so its darker than toby's a$$ in there and my pics are ok, see I got some new leaks.

Ok this combine dont have the new stick in it yet, so I chose this one to show how it is. The hoses from the unloader valve goes to the splitter valve and one set to the auger and one set to the front for the head. Pretty simple

Kind of a mess here cause I am fixing some leaks.

Ok, the first pic, the hoses come off the unloader valve (top stack), they actually just wrap around straight to the top side of the splitter valve. On the bottom of that splitter the left side goes to the unloading auger and the other side goes to the header, this is just a hydraulic multiplier for a tractor just with no couplers on it just has the hydraulic hoses ran into it

All wires on the solenoids are connected together and just needs power to switch functions, I just use a push button switch so I have to push the button and hit the unloader auger switch in the direction I need to move the reel.

Second pic is just to help depict the valve, pretty simple. Have you found a valve?

Gonna go with this valve: 12V DC 2-Position, 6-Way Selector Valve | Princess Auto

How does the wiring on the DIN connector work?

I can't find a wiring diagram anywhere.

One is ground and the other two are 12v? If that's the case, I need a two position switch so that 'up' would allow the auger to operate and 'down' would allow the fore/aft to operate?

Just a push button to activate it, hook the hydraulics up to the unload auger, and on the off position oil will continue to go to your unload auger, when ya push the push button to activate it the oil will head to the fore/aft function and you will use the unload auger switch to move the reel the direction you choose while powering up the valve by holding the push button at the same time

Make sence?
