I have a 97 2188. I have a black box yield monitor. Would it be possible to upgrade to a new 600 color monitor. Would this be something ideal to upgrade to.

Ideal, well it all depends on what is ideal to you.

The screen is almost $4700

and there is a kit you need that is around $213.

heck I would jump up to a Universal Display Plus and you would be MORE than happy with that for a lot less.

You are correct they don't offer the universal display plus anymore new. You can only get them repaired or upgrade. I just upgraded the monitor to a pro 600 in our 8010. So I will let you know how it works. So far it looks nice.

They just had a special to upgrade combines to the 600 monitor for $1749 for the screen.+ the kit. They will be offering another here soon for planters and such. We are going to upgrade the one for our planter too. You can get your dealer to order it for your combine at that time.

If I were you I would go with the AG leader insight I have it in our 8010 and sprayer and I love it. The 600 only runs the combine in our 8010 not the yield data.

I agree I think that the Insight is a nice unit imo more user friendly. Everybody that runs our combine wants the agleader back in there.

its interface really is similar...just they could have worded some

I have worked with the UD Plus, Ag Leader Insight, and the AFS Pro 600. In my opinion Insight is a very good aftermarket yeild setup. It has some mapping ability the the Pro 600 wont have until 2008. For a user friendly and data managment reasons I would rather have the Pro 600. The screens on the 600 are much easier to understand and look like something you should see on a 2007 machine.

The Pro 600 will map but Insight has more mapping options. Insight will show you the map as the way you planted your field. With the Pro 600 Planter and yeild monitor software are different and cannot be viewed at the same time its not a difference that most people require.
