How do stripper heads perform in oats? I would like to harvest them when they are mostly dry.I have been told they have a lot of loss in dry wheat. I am located in N East Ga. where oats have a tendancy to get big and lodge. Also - how do stripper heads perform in fescue?

Shelbourne which is a foreign based company assembles stripper heads in Kansas. This company has no competition since Agco stopped producing stripper heads.

A North American based company needs to be producing stripper heads in order to provide a competitive product and stop good money flowing offshore.

No idea about fescue but a stripper header works really well in oats. Surprisingly gentle on the kernals - no problems with dehulling. Sometimes it even takes in the kernals and leaves the glumes behind. Make sure your trucker is ready for a busy day. At 5 or 6 mph you'll fill the hopper very quickly!!

Don, just wondering what you are confused about?
I think He is confused why someone is ranting about foreign products in a thread about field settings on a stripper header.

The rest of us are equally confused. ;)

Yeah, it would be nice if AGCO brought it back, but honestly Shelbourne puts a decent chunk of change in our economy too. Lots of diesel pickups get bought, worked on, and replaced, and a crew of guys get a pay check, so that is better than nothing.
