In the 'cradle' of air seeders / air drills (where they were developed, and adopted the earliest): What is the farmer terminology for the parts where the primaries become secondaries? -- I don't want to corrupt the answers by using central US terminology, so I'm trying to describe this in the most general terms. Specifically, I'm interested in what you call the upright primary pipe, and the piece that sets on top of it. (I realize Morris is completely different design.)
I use:
Primary Tower/Primary Distribution Tower
Primary Riser/Primary Distribution Riser
Also, I might be slightly different on my parts terminology but I have a Bourgault cart. The main run from the cart is the primary, from there it splits into secondaries, and lastly splits into the seed tubes/runs.
OK on the upright being a 'riser' or 'tower.' I still hear & read of at least 4 different terms for the part that sets on top of this, however. So a few more replies would be welcome!
I call the whole assembly where it transitions from a primary hose, to the secondary hoses a Tower, and the top part(where the air stream splits) the Manifold.
Just curious why your inquiring about a specific name for them, are you writing an instructional manual, making a new design, just curious or trying to win a bet?
Morris calls them Flat fan divider heads.
