Hello I was wondering if anybody had any diagnostic advice on what would be ailing a 2388 with a constant alarm coming on indicating the air intake manifold temperature is too hot. How serious of a problem is it, should it be repaired immediately or can I just idle down to rid it.

It could have something to do with your aspirator(clogged) ,turbo, or even the sensor could be going bad.

Do you have the two panels behind the engine installed? Had the same problem last year in soybeans, the temp guage would get close to the first mark and the air intake temp alarm would go off. We had the panels out and it lets the hot air coming out of the radiator get sucked right back in the rotary air screen.

no the panels are still on behind the engine. It was 30 degrees today and the header was shutting off every round. blew out the rads it did nothing. As soon as it cools down there is no problem. Does anyone know where the sensor is located and if you can bypass it so it doesn't shut off the feeder house.

On our 1998 2388 this light comes on fairly often and its caused by the air to air cooler for the intake air being plugged. Its the farthest rad in from the door that you open the 1s on angle in front of the rotorary screen. takes lots of blowin to get ours clean and a long wand is needed.
