Another question about slowing down corn head

954 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  vq35de
On the 2208 corn head on both ends of the head the drive sprocket is 34 teeth and the driven is 26 teeth. If I switch them it will slow it down. Will it be to much or to little?

I would think that would change it WAY too much
The book says swap them to slow it down. Try it.
If reversing them slows your head down too much. Put both 34 tooth sprockets on one end and both 26 tooth sprockets on the other end. This will give you a one to one ratio on both sides. You might have to adjust the length of the chains. We used to do this on our John Deere head.
