I would probably be more worried about grain damage. The cts's problem is canola where it over thrashes on the rotors and puts that material on the sieves. Much better job in barely though. For a real increase I would try and find a 9610 . I have harvested lupins no worries CTS2 though. Some pretty bulky crops with areas going over 5t/ha.

Cheers Nig...I have a choice between a CTS, 9500, 9510 & 9600...problem is for wheat and barley down home it will be tough so CTS would be good...but I will have a fair whack of beans and peas each year...canola will be one offs and generally in tough conditions as well.

It's more faba's I'm worried about walking them out the back, can use slow down pulley of course....

I must admit in my years on a 9600 there's not much I couldn't strip...

I only pot along as well I'm not trying to belt over massive acres...as long as it's reliable and I don't loose to much...of course when I have sheep I won't give two sh*ts!

I agree MS, when I used the only time I would heavily rely on rotors was at end of rice season when it fell off the stalk...other wise I would run just a touch above what I would do in a walker. Use to have issues in West with the tray below the rotors becoming full and not letting grain out of cage....beans and peas this shouldn't be an issue, neither in tough straw.

I've never removed every second wire in concave but wouldn't mind doing..only issue is swapping between crops...makes me wonder if the old 96 would be a better option for me? Both are 97 models ...similar hours...CTS looks to be in pretty good nick....both have 30ft flex fronts on trailers...similar distance from home....

9600 would be about 10k cheaper maybe....

Both serious over kill...

I wasn't worried about grain loss in CTS but just read some stuff from overseas...I'm pretty sure I could make it work with not to much fuss...had plenty of machines doing 10,000 acres a year with them in WA! It's all we had and didn't know any different.
