We were looking at a used 9860 yesterday it has 600Sep and 800 Eng hours. A few of the the augers in this thing looked WORE OUT. The bubbler auger in the bulk tank, the lower return grain and the lower clean grain all are in need of replacement. The John Deere dealer said that this is regular and are fairly cheap augers to replace. Part totals for all three were around $1000 bucks. Thats not a ton of money on a 300k machine but $1000 dollars is a $1000 dollars.

Just wondering is this normal?

Is there any other wear pieces to be aware of?

A 3 year old combine that needs $1000 of maintenance? Seems like a pretty good deal. We can see $5000 on a 1 year only machine just from the rocks we have.

Those augers were the small things but they seemed like excessive wear. It also needed new concaves, lots of tin, chopper blades, bearings, etc. All together it was about 10K in repairs to make it harvest ready, and that is not including the most complicated grain header (hydra flex) I have ever seen that needs work.
