We just bought a 8737 Massey tractor. 2015 model. Need to get auto steer set up for it and this will be our first auto steer set up except for a combine I had and all the auto steer equipment came with it. Our auto steer guy wants to set us up with Trimble or Ag Leader. Does either one of these systems work better for the Massey tractors or does it make no difference?

Check to see if ur unit is autosteer ready, then its just find a reciever and controller and plug and play. If not, trimble ez steer and 250 would be cheapest route. Check the used market, cheaper yet. The 500s have bigger screen. Fm750s are better yet and easier to set up but more expesive and touch screens can get spendy to fix. Fm1000 areCheck with your dealer on cost of mounting kit for your tractor. Need to ask about wiring as well cause it can get expensive. If you know part numbers and have time forums and ebay will be cheaper than new. I like a thumb switch in my FNR levers or gear shift. for engage or disengage vs button on monitor or foot pedal. Usually have to make those from and wire them in to the 25 pin connector on the t2 controller. Ag leader is good but not much support for agleader in Canada. Cnh dealers can help with trimble. I am told deere is good, but IMHO, buy the gps equipment from people who are in the gps business not an equipment manufacturer who sees an opportunity to cash in. I dont see trimble or agleader making equipment. Deere will nickle and dime you. They would rather you buy new than Deere have to upgrade old. Ok if you want to upgrade every 2 years.

I have run both Trimble Fm 1000's and CNH Pro 700"s. The Trimble unit is a good unit. But sometimes can be a little complicated to set up. I have become quite a fan of the Case IH Pro 700. When it comes to my dad or any of the guys trying to use the monitor sometimes the simpler ones are nicer. If you don't need all the options don't get a complicated monitor.

Just my opinion.

You forgot to mention the Pro 700 has a unique feature whereby it randomly finds itself too full off electrons and warns you at the same time as dumping the lot. No chance to save or record, Just says oops Im full, that lots in the toilet Im starting again. WTF

I have Ag Leader in my Sprayer and like it. Less glitchy than other GPS I’ve ran. Good support in the USA.

Take a look at Outback. Very simple to use and it costs about 10k to get a full setup. I have the 10 inch monitor and it is great. Accuracy is within an inch and it even turns for you. All I had to do was lift the drill and then set it back down all spring.

Run an Outback S3 in one tractor and Case/Trimble 750 in another. Outback is far better. Way easier to operate, switch from AB line to contour, setup fields, etc. And way less glitches. The Outback is also very consistent from one day to the next. Can stop for the night and resume the next day with no misses, not so with the Case. Run the S3 with their VSI steering wheel which is a replacement steering wheel with motor built in, nice and easy install. I would punt the Case 750 tomorrow for the S3.

And more like 2 inch accuracy with the s3. I set my drill for a 6 inch skip and have no misses

Does anyone use auto steer for tractor form Fjd? How about it? View attachment 165355
Did you get this system. We're looking for a system that can steer below 2miles/hour. currently running a fm750 with ez-pilot in a lexion 585 but doesn't stay engaged below 2mph. Talked to the trimble dealer. His answer is to spend 15 to 20k to fix that problem. some of these cheaper brands like Fieldbee and Fjd advertise lower operating speeds.
