I haven't grown much for oats, was looking at the different options for herbicide, crop is 4th leaf. Not an over-abundance of moisture so far this spring, but we are better off that way than many around us. Spray book says you can spray 100ml/ac Banvil mixed with MCPA amine 500 (0.45 L/AC I think it said). Phoned a couple places for some prices, had one guy recommend that I don't spray Banvil on oats but he couldn't really give me a reason - just looking for the opinion of those who grow oats quite a bit, or have tried banvil on oats. I will be applying liquid phos at the same time, usually helps minimize the negative effects of the herbicide on the crop. Thanks

Wouldn't spray banvel on oats, way too hot. Amines are good like 24d amine or mcpa, but miss buckwheat and Russian thistle. Wouldn't use buctril or mextrol either. There too hot too. Use refine, it's the easiest on crop and safest for oats by far. If you have clearfield canola you'll need to add some mcpa to get it.
