Have a couple pieces of Barley on low land that froze pretty hard. My grounds thermometers measured -3.8 C but not for a very long time maybe an hour. All the leaves are burned off but seems like trying to push new leaves up through... Any thoughts? I feel it should be ok just looks rough. What say you???
We had a couple pieces of barley that took a pretty good kick from the frost and looked nearly dead. Now one of those fields on one of our poorest all around fields looks dynamite. Plenty of water and now some sun and it is tillering very nicely. I guess harvest will tell but right now it looks even better after the frost. As long as it is rooted down good I think you will be ok.
I thought I was probably the only one that thought it seems to turn out best froze, wheat and barley for us after being snowed on and froze hard for days comes back with vengeance :54:
I guess driving by it 7 times yesterday didnt help... I best plan different routes.
