what in the world would have caused this
some of you may remember me posting a while back about the primary gear box. well we took it off and all was well and re-installed it. weve cut about 500 acres with it and the vibration is still there. we have about decided the shaft is bent. in the morning it will be torn down and checked. what could have bent the shaft???

Have you ever wrapped the header drive belt up around it? Or had the belt break and flop around catching on things? I have seen these things bend a shaft. It will cause a vibration.

whewwwwwww finally got it ironed out took the shaft to a machine shop to check for bends, and turned out it was straight as an arrow. so took a good look at the hollow part on the gearbox that the shaft goes through, and it was ok. turned out that sometime or another the nut on the clutch wasnt tight and was ran loose. it wallowed out the center of the clutch enough to cause all this viberation and sort. so replaced the clutch and smooth as silk.
