Anybody have any experience repairing floor on grainhead ? Existing floor has wore out .Will 1/8 th inch plastic make a good liner . This repair is for a neighbor that has a very limited budget . It is on an old series 2 head on a F.
We repaired the center of the floor on one of our L-2 pickup headers this fall. Had a piece of similar gauge rolled to shape and bolted to the old floor with sickle bolts, the kind with the pan head and fluted shoulder. Worked real well...
is there holes the full width, or is it just wore in the middle? if in the middle only, I would cut the pan at the first crossmember out on each side from the center, and put a new center sheet in.
I really wish these had a 3 piece pan from the factory, but oh well.
