Around Regina we are looking real mixed bag for a lot of crops. No rain since snow melt.
Most started ok especially those goosed with liquid, and pulse crops seeded deeper but some are going backwards now. Top few inches is totally parched but there is some subsoil moisture down further. Flax and canola plants are tiny for this time of year and we have had some hot dry shearing winds this past week.
Looks like even if we got a rain now, the big yield is off the table. Forecast still isn't calling for anything significant for the rest of the month.
