Is there any difference between a Maurer bin extension and a Cary? They kinda look the same but seems to be more Maurers out there. Measured a Cary yesterday and it's 18 in. tall......are the Maurers any shorter?

Maurers were a better bin extension than the crary at one time. The Crary is made more like the Maurer now so it doesn't make much difference.

Hey Redhat
Can a guy get the bin extension's off a 2588 as a kit, from caseih then put them on a 2577? I think they hold more than Maurers?

Both have similar dimensions and capacity ratings.

Yikes, I can run a calculator better than that.

I'd like to think you wouldn't need a calculator!

Don

It's pretty simple math, and no I don't need a calculator to add 300 to 200. Its funny when i do the math that equates to 500.

Sad note though, apparently they are starting to teach kids in grade 3 to use a calculator, so they don't have to learn how to do math the 'old fashion way'. So I guess some day when all the computers crash were going to be up the creek

One thing about bin extensions, I have used over the years 3 different ones and in no way shape or form can I get the bushels on my combine that they all claim to hold, does anyone else come up short on bushels as well? The combine sits level and with wet corn I can get close but still about 20 bushels short, I moved the alarm up and any more corn and it comes running over, but both combines never total what they should........

Don, I also looked at this with a suspect eye, but Crary is figuring you have to take off Deere's topper and THEN put on their's (Crary's) That where the figures are off. Basically, Crary is selling you a flare extension with tip ups, thus getting 400. Since Deere has a decent topper (for once!) they sell the tip up kit separately. (Coincidentally, so does Maurer, both large and small tip ups.)
I have no idea why the early 9650/60 numbers are screwed up. Looks like someone is a little ham-handed when it comes to typing.

Have you looked into the Bish Bin extensions from Harv's Farm Supply? Those look like they might hold a little more than the others. It looks like they cover a little more of the bin. I should probably know a little more about them. I'm good friends with the owners son and used to help out around there once in a while when I was younger. I used to help prep and paint the extensions and then ship them out.

But we've never had a Bish on our combines. We've got a Maurer on our 9650 with the flip up extensions and it adds about an extra 120 bu. I think Bish claims to add 175 bu. with theirs.
