Fellow Farmers,
I have searched Hi and Low on here trying to find guys that have had sectional control on the bourgault and how they liked it, pretty much found nothing. I want to upgrade my drill and am looking at a used tank with sectional control. How have they worked for you guys and do you think a used one (2 Years Old) is a bad decision. Thanks in advance.

When it came out, it looked like a simple, easy to use setup that would work on any make seeding tool, but BG does not recommend using it with other tools. When the gate shuts it sometimes piles up I little fert there and then it doesn't always clean out so good but over all it's an 8/10 system So pretty good. Other companies like seedhawk, and fc new system just use elec meters on each main and this looks good too.

Just purchased sectional control with a new 7950 tank and 76' QDA on 9.8" spacing so we will see how well it works. Bourgault has given me every assurance that they will stand behind it 110%. Talked with a few producers at the Crop Production show that used this system last year for the first time and all were quite happy. Other testimonials that I have read seem to be equally positive.

What are you pulling it with? 600hp? Tracks?

I get that they recommend that you give them the money for the tool also. Is there another reason too that I care about? The ony possible thing would be if they raise openers. Seedhawk also said that they wont sell a tank without the tool and again there is no good reason. The old tool would just not raise the shanks but who cares about that?

They don't raise openers on the BG system, I'm pretty sure my local Rocky Mtn dealer has sold a Seedhawk/BG combo with sectional.

I have a 9630, weighted right up, I have no big hills so I am not too concerned. I just had a look at the sectional control and there is hydraulics, gate valves and a bank of electric actuators, seems like it may work good now but what happens in 5 years from now. I like the simplicity of the the 2016 seedhawk tank, but our local seedhawk dealer sounds like hes letting the seedhawk brand go, so no local service

We priced out a 66 foot, 10 inch spaced 3320 QDA drill without MRBs, A 7700 cart, without sectional control, no weigh scale option. Was only 517,500. Would have to make up our mind quickly if we want it for spring. Actually did make up our mind quickly.

Farming will soon be for the rich and not so famous. 517k with no air, tilt, or cruise and only 66 ft. WOW. It's time these manufacturers start taking a hit as well as the dealers. They are all living high on the hog.

Thinking that's a retail price. If not, they sure when went up in the last year.

Also, this year coming up is really going to be he first season that BG had put sectional control in the field to who ever wanted it. Even last year it was limited. So buying a 2 year old one might not be exactly like what's offered now.
