Thinking about buying a new seed hawk I want sectional control. I have a 07 hawk with a jd tank love it but have heard some problems with new drills , is there anyone out there that hasn't had any problems with new hawks.
Ran a 84' 800 cart with sct with next to no issues. Only problem i had was one section didnt drop in on its own. Only happened a couple of times. Noticed huge acre savings over our 66' without sct. Very happy with unit so far
Was talking to JD salesman yesterday. He said he was in on a conference call about the 2015 seeding/planting lineup this week. JD is supposed to have SectionCommand out on their air carts for 2015.
Thought I'd throw this out since you mentioned that you have a JD cart now....
I've ran 2sct units first one was garbage nothing but trouble but seedhawk looked after us 100% 2nd unit has been almost perfect assembly issues being the biggest problem. Would reccomend them to anyone. SCT worked perfectly this year and it had to work overtime this year going round all the wet spots. Tank could be easier to work on but that'll improve with next generation. Go to regina and take a look
Just buy a seed hawk toolbar and JD tank with sectional. We have owned a non SCT tank and it was terrible, over the last 5 years we have give them different two demos and they never work proper. Still really like my 84ft toolbar, it seems to like the welder however.
I ran a new 60 foot slim fold drill with an 800 sct tank this year. Some assembly issues with hoses not properly tightened and an issue with gates 1 and 8 cross wired but other than that it worked fantastic. The redesign of the frame looks good and strong on these as well. Hopefully no welding to worry about on it now.
I was at the intro of the new tanks today and they have some really impressive features that fix lots of the little complaints I had with them. Now just to see a $ figure on these new ones
