I know there are not a lot of C-62's out there, but I have 4 of them. We use them in a lot of grass seed and some wheat. The main problem I am having is premature failure of the conveyor belt that runs underneath the straw walkers. It begins to split out where the belt seal rubs on the conveyor belt as the belt turns. The is wear spot eventually breaks through and the belt starts to go to pieces. I think it is just a poor design, but I am not sure how to remedy it. I wondered if anyone else who has a C-62 has had this same trouble? Any Ideas, and no I don't want an R-series for all of our grass seed! Thanks..

I checked around a bit and seems like 900-1000 hours is life of the belt. There are two different service bulletins in this area . One is brace and guide kit #0032 the other is a bulletin #0027 concerning units prior to sn 29009. This involves new longer supports and seals and straw walker bolt guards. I am no expert in this, only had one in the territory, but did a little checking and found an application of seed flow graphite under flap of top seals and on top of belt about once a week and was told really helped. The top lapp belt should not have a lot of down pressure btw.

I know very little about C62s but thought I'd share bit of info from a call a couple days ago. The guy in NE Kansas has a couple C62s and loves them. He was looking for feeder floor kit to fit one. I don't know if they have same transition design as rotaries. He said they are the same other than wider and he has trouble with the transition. I stirred him to very nearby dealer that I knew had installed floor kits in rotaries and would likely have instruction sheet to follow. Anyway he was asking me about that conveyer belt for he would like to improve the situation. It sounded like he had located some diamond treaded canvas and wondered if that would complement single accelerator roll system. That sounded like a good plan to me as long as the canvas he has custom cut can take the RPM. Does the accelerator roll and canvas run in the 1000 RPM range like the rotaries do? TIA
