Hey guys, just wondering if anybody had some input into which setup would work better for straight cutting canola? We have a 9770 and a t 670 and either a 635f or a 635fd without a pea auger.We do have a set of small wire conclaves for the 9770 and kinda on the fence about side knives or rotoshears.

You don't need knives or Rotoshears when straight cutting canola, when the crop is that ripe dividing it is easy.

I would go with the 670 since you have that option. Rotarys tend to put bits of green stem, pod and other stuff in the sample, sometimes making it hard to meet trash level requirements.
Use the 635F if it has a cross auger. If none do, go buy one with that $5k you just saved from vertical knives.

Thanks phantom,that head already has a cross auger.I guess I'll have to dispose of that money somewhere else.Shouldn't be very hard this day in age!!! Lol

Trash Level?

meet trash level requirements.

I guess that's what we call dockage, but that's all it is, just weight deduced for each load.
At what level and what is the penalty for exceeding "trash level"?
