Good Morning,

Looking at an older CASE 6200 press drill, was hoping to get some opinions or first hand experiences.

Small farm in Northern Alberta, just one quarter section. Will be used to put in mostly feed barley

Thanks

Had a IH 5100 end wheel drill. Worked great for what we were seeding at the time. Double disk needs the ground to be worked pretty good, then diamond harrow after and its good to go. Upgraded to a JD 9350 hoe drill, could seed into ground that wasnt worked as fine, saved a pass of tillage. Have heard the Case drills were not balanced as well and in soft conditions would become anchors quicker.

With our 5100 the fertilizer cogs had to come out every year and live in a pail of diesel or things would rust up very quickly. Would make sure everything in the fertilizer box on the drill moves and is not rusted solid.

Thanks for the info.

I'm definitely open to alternatives.

What spacing do you have on your 9350? What should a guy look for when having a look at one of these units? Would you worry about a bit of rust in the seed boxes?

I've found a few on Kijiji, nothing in good shape though. What are they worth?

Thanks so much
