we are thinking about trading our 6620 jd on a 1660. is there anything we should look for on the 1660? also we are not to sure how to set the machine. is there any different settings between corn and soybeans on a axial flow machine?

on settings no much just change the rotor speed and maybe change the sieve setting but ive got lazy and havent changed the sieve and turned out pertty good. imo i would think you would be pretty happy changing from the 6620 to the 1660 ahhc is alot better than the dial-matic and some other stuff. they are pretty easy to work on just look at the rotor, concaves, sieves, cone, veins, the cage, and pretty much just look it over like any other normal combine and you will be fine

No worse than any other machine, just keep them lubed. Every combine manufacturer gets bearings from the same few companies.
