Have a mx 230 with 2000 hrs with a pto fault, the pto will not disengage and runs constantly, have changed pto solenoid with no luck, seems to also drop the trans pressure 'low trans pres' code comes up and trans pressure drops from 2150kpa to 1712kpa. After a while the 'high trans temp' comes on indicating the trans temp is above 120 degrees C and the engine shuts down.
It seems all these problems are linked, I have checked and cleaned the earths but no fix, I'm starting to regret this modern tractor can anyone help???.?.?.?..?.

When you say solenoid you mean actual hydraulic spool or the coil? Sometimes solenoid and coil are confused.sounds like brake could be burned out. There is an update for PTO components for this age of tractor.
Another this you can try is, being EXTREmELy carefully wedge a piece of board up against shaft and stop the pto shaft?

On our older newholland it is common to break the pto brake band. Could be something stuck in the valve part of the solenoid holding it open. If the tractor is shut off can you turn the pto shaft? If the brake is bad I would think you should be able to turn it by hand. Our 463o deere has something wrong internally causing the pto to be locked in all the time if you turn the shaft it turns the engine

It sounds like the clutch. Try turning the shaft by hand engine off and see if it feels locked up. You should be able to turn it about 90-180 deg before it hits the brake. The clutch is behind the hitch third link.

I checked this morning I cannot move the pto shaft when it is off, does that mean it needs a new pto clutch, why would that be heating up trans? would this be the hydraulic valve is trying to turn off all the time?

I would find some one to hook a pressure guage up and see if it is building pressure with the switch off indicating the valve is stuck. Does it run an implement or does the drag of an implement stop it? If you turn the switch on does it still heat up? maybe fighting the brake

The hydraulic over heating could be from pto clutches being burned up and driving through the brake. Youre losing trans system pressure when you try to engage the pto indicating that the seals are melted or blown out of the pto. Pull the plate that the hitch third link attaches to . There are two steel lines on top of trans. Disconnect them. Remove the plastic jumper tubes that go through top lid to pto. Through the back remove the four bolts that retain pto and remove pto. Then drop it off at your case ih dealer.
