Good day all,
I have a Cat 485 that came out of the south setup for rice. spiked rotors, and rasp bar cylinder. This unit is great for soybeans, however, not for corn. I harvest with a 12 row 30 inch cat head. And it leaves kernels on the cob, and a lot of them. I have set the machine to the closest settings and kept the throat full, still the same results. Looking for a solution.

I guess I don't understand the question. If it is a rice machine it likely won't do well in corn. Change it over to what a corn machine would be and it should do well.

APS round bar grates found at hhsparts.com
Cylinder can be bought at Sunnybrook.
Main concave, lots of options...Sunnybrook, hhsparts.com, precision farm parts, dealer, etc...

I believe an "enclosed" cylinder would be in your interest if you end up replacing the one you have.

I apologize for not making it clear. I'm new to 485 as well as the settings. I was in question if there was any way I could get by with the current rotor and cylinder without switching over.Trying to keep cost to a minimum because it is an older high hour machine.
