Our CR970 had a deluxe chopper and i wonder if anyone can get a 36' spread with their chopper. or is my only option an Redekop MAV. has anybody just changed the chopper rotor to a redekop or is there just a secret on the wind knife arrangement?

I changed my chopper rotor to a redekop in my CR9060 it made an it better. But when straw gets real dry we still have problems getting it out 36 ft. On our CR8090 it just has the deluxe chopper and (we have only done peas with it so far) it has been spreading the 36ft for us..

It's a winged blade arrangement problem. You need straight blades everywhere except on the very outside. The outside three blade sets on every row need to be winged. We have done that on the last three CR's, and they will spread over 36'. Good luck.

So currently I have two opposing rows of wind blades in 9090. Take out middle and replace with straight and only do outside three on out side.
All 4 positions. Worth a crack

It's worked for us on the last three combines. Chopper runs quieter as well.
