I have a 2006 JD 9660STS. It has the big feederhouse lift cylinders, has HD variable speed FH with oil cooler. It does NOT have the High Torque FH, I currently have a JD 893 with knife rolls. I am thinking about upgrading to a 8-30" chopping corn head. I'm thinking about a 608C Stalkmaster, Drago 8-30, or Geringhoff 8-30. Any pluses or minuses for each? I am leaning towards JD, dealer is 15 miles away. Heard trying to get parts for the others are hard & expensive.

Without the heavy duty drive the Deere head will destroy that feeder house.. But I can be mistaken.. Had a local guy have a 9650sts and the 608c took the standard gearbox out... I would want a heaviest drive possible.
Its gerhinghoff vs everyone else.. Love ours and not a noticable difference in HP from our 3408 case... Very nice cutting job too
