Purchasing new chopper. Our old machine was a Claas 840 which we loved. Hoping to stay with Claas with a new 840 and Orbis 600 but JD has come to table with a bigger machine (7480) for same money. Let the fun begin....let's hear your thoughts.

In my opinion (which isn't worth much) there's a reason that a deere is a bigger machine for the same money, if you have a claas and like it stick with what works.

John deere will give you better chop quality. Claas has a faster change than the 7000 john deere series between crops (swapping kp for doors etc). John deere has a better moisture and yield metering system. Claas has a stronger/sturdier spout. Everthing else is similar
