Going to replace the clean grain chain. Have a new one from sloan express. In the package they had a paper that said you should put new sprockets on both ends is this true? Or will it make it for another 1000 hrs or so.
Have you ever changed the upper bearings? The right one on the outside where the chain drives the elevator has a real load on it from the drive chain and the elevator chain. If you decide to change the bearings you'll be surprised at how much the elevator has worn on the inside at the top so you'll probably replace some parts in there including the sprocket.
What I've experienced, is whenever you put on a new chain of any sort and the sprockets are very worn they will prematurely wear out your new chain. The sprockets are kind of mated to the old stretched out chain.
