I have combine wheat in a R52 with a small grain concave without them. I changed the concave to a high wire and we always use 3 or 4 rows of filler bars. I bought the first 2 rows from AGCO, made the rest as I have had the AGCo ones come loose. They are hard to get into the end where the front concave height adjustment is. Just made of flat bar with a couple holes in it.

We purchased an R42 it did not include concave fillers. We have wheat harvest coming. Do we need them? What would happen w/o them? How many should we use? Do we buy them from Agco or do most people make them? How do you make them?
