Jester, I recall you saying that you had tested a couple of different rotors in CRs. Was one an AFX style with small rub bars the whole length of both the separation and threshing areas? How did it work?

I also remember RM mentioning that.
At 9090 school though Andy the rotors are identical even though the 9090 was developed in Europe.
Shoe is different however, but not rotors.
Rotor drive redesigned.
Most of the increased power will go to that straw destroying chopper though.
Supposed to be very fine and even regardless of conditions.
What a perfect year to demo it in our area.

Yes Andy last year we had a demo/proto combine for the entire season that I operated for 250 hours or so.

It had the AFX style rotors or what they called the rice series rotors (I beleive you can order them this way now). It had the small bars staggered over the entire rotors...how did it do?

Wheat: Very good on easy thrashing Andrew wheat a bump of 10% over the normal rotors

Wheat: Hard thrashing wheat, not so good...whitecaps and HP

Peas: very similar

Barley: ver simiar

Canola: broke it up more...loss the same but more chaff in the hopper.

Flax: Don't ask.....

Overall, canola is the main crop here so I would not order it here. If you had an easy thrashing wheat as your main crop I would be all over it. Flax was a story all in it own....

Yes Don, however the straw destroying chopper you talk of does not use any more power than the MAV. Uses hydraulic spread versus a lot of air but does not use more power just more green bills!!

Somewhere here someone posted a video, or at least a link, to that chopper in action, do you remember that RM?
Or anyone?
Looked great, if it doesn't draw anymore power, so much the better.

You can order the 9090 with same chopper the others have but if it cuts as fine and spreads as even as billed I certainly wouldn't.
Not to mention all the adjust-ability from the cab.
Guess what I think the best feature of the CR 9090 is?

Too bad the chaff doesn't go through it too.
