Got out of the TR98 and into a CR940 and we are new to the setup. Having difficulty getting the grain platform 74C to float properly. Any tips on complete setup when learning how to run the CR series combines? Also has a fault 17 error code.
The combine gives fault 17 when trying to calibrate the HHC. It won't calibrate through step one.
Is the down pressure sensor on the combine or the header? Where is it located. I could only fine the lateral sensor. It was reading voltage values in range.

I'm attaching an interesting detac document (ER17.pdf) for you. Note that this says this says that ER17 should only occur on combines 2009 & newer with CNH AHHC , rather than Bosch AHC (which your CR940 should be). I see three possibilities here:
  1. You mistyped and its a CR9040 2009 & up.
  2. The ER17 you have is for the older machines, the Detac is wrong.
  3. A tech put the wrong software into your combine. (I've seen this before!)
Note that the feeder position sensor is under the cab with an arm laying down on the feeder on a CR 940, and the lift pressure sensor is on the main valve block halfway back the left side. Its a small round "can" with a small 3 pin plug
