Never thought this would happen but, stopped to unload, just started to go again and back wheel fell off! I thought the spindle must have broke but no, the nut had come off wrecking the threads. Had to buy the wheel hub and spindle (one piece), bearings and pound in wheel studs although this was the easy part, had to lift combine out of the 18" groove it cut in the field.
This is just a reminder for everyone to take the five minutes and pop the dust caps off and check the locking nuts.

We had that happen a couple years ago at the shop. The mud gets packed in between dust cap and axle. The mud freezes and knocks the dust cap off then breaks the cotter pin off and the nut then turns and off comes the wheel. Always make sure the dust cap is there.
