We are running a 2004 cr970 with 1500hrs and are looking a trading to a 2009 cr9070 with 200hrs. Are there any diffrences or improvements in the two machines? We harvest wheat, canola, flax, peas, barley in southwestern manitoba.

do it! We did and although one doesn't think there will be a large increase in capacity, you will see a big difference. The engine program in the 9070s seem to be able to power through more stuff that you shouldn't put in the front than the 970.

How is the machine wear at 1500 hrs on the 970? Any parts needing replacing yet?

We bought this cr two years ago and had $16000 workorder on it. Concaves, rub bars, feeder chain, elevator chain ect. We are starting to have a lot of problems with little things like latch that holds concave up broke, arm on side of the shoe broke, broke inside rim, deflectors on straw chopper cracking were bolted on. THe combine goes through the shop every year and have not had any real serious problems. We think it has alot to do with how the machine was
operated before we got it. My cousins also have a cr960 with the same or few more hours and he said it needs quite a bit of work now.

The '06 and '07 production of the 970's had 400hp with 25hp boost and 25hp rise non selectable. In '07 for Australian harvest we had mainly 970's and a limited number of 9070's filter through, it wasn't until '08 that we had only 9070's with the 420hp with power rise to 463hp

HI guys i am on different ground but i am comparing a jd 9770 to 9070 , I have demoed the cr9070 but hardly had a chance to stretch its legs i am currently dealing on 2009 9070 which seems to be the same price as a jd 9770. I farm in ne sk and i am looking for a 4000 acre machine and expecting to dry about a 1000 acres every year. they claim 20 acres per hour on this machine 12 hours per day, my question is on a 16hour day can i pull 220 acres perday on 50 bushel wheat with a 36 ft head. I currently run a 9650 sts and cts and if we do 250 in a day that is a real good day. in my area there seems to be a couple of 970s running about 3000 acres per year
