The building my shop is in is devided in two sections. 45x45 finished and 45x45 gravel floor. I have a critter that is digging holes under the concrete and digging his way to outside the building. He is getting behind the walls in the shop too. I setup a trail cam and got a pic of a rat but he won't touch any kind of food I set out. Corn, cat food ,bacon nothing. I tried regular rat traps...leg hold traps to no avail. It will dig around and under pallets that I have out in the gravel....I am stumped. I gotta believe it is something other than the rat I took a pic of . The holes he digs are about 2 inches in diameter. Any thoughts on how to catch this thing if it won't eat anything is set out! I am worried of an infestation if I cant get rid of it. I put our worthless cat out there for a few nights and he apparently is afraid of it. He will get mice and I seen a few rats he has brought up but he must be scared of whatever is out there ...lol

Try some juicy fruit gum, haven't found a rodent that won't eat it, usually works better than poison, they just can't crap it and they die, works especially well on moles. Hope this helps, cheap enough to try anyways

About 25 years ago we got overun with rats. We had a self feeder with cattle on feed and the rats wouldn't even look at the poison. Our rat control guy said go get some used cooking oil and we'll add that to the poison. At that time we had rolled oats with warfarin. They absolutely devoured the poison and were all cleared out. Two years ago we got another bunch moved in. Same story, rats wouldn't even look at the poison. We were using rat tac blocks strung on a wire in poisoning boxes. Went to the A&W and got a pail of used cooking oil and poured the oil over the blocks. They went after it again and it cleaned them out. The main thing is you have to use used cooking oil. Hope this helps.

I got me some bait sticks or blocks with bromadialone in them and tossed them in the areas where they had been active and after the food was there for several days they finally started to eat it . I got two rats that were about 15 inches countin the tails and that must have been all that was out there unless there were more that I didn't see.

I also had one under the house here that took some different poison that I had put in the crawl space. It took several days for it to work on him but I'm pretty sure he's dead or at least gone.

Today I made ten bait stations out of wood and put them around in several locations in the barn lots and vowed to never let them run out of bait for as long as I live here again. I hate them SOB's . Thanks for the help !

2 inch abs makes a good bait station. You take a t and put a 24 inch piece on the branch port. And about a 12 inch piece in each run port. This make a good self feeder. You should cap the top of the branch pipe. You can use a 2 inch strap to fasten to wall.
