Hi,

We harvested some tropical grass seed last year using a neighbours JD 9500 with a 925R front. The seed is an extremely light seed however we did put the fan on and came out with quite a good clean sample (realising we were blowing a fair bit out the back).

This year we are looking at purchasing a second hand 2000, John Deere CTS 1 machine with a 922R front. I was wondering how this might compare to the 9500 (with 925R front) in the job it would do on the light grass seed and the major differences I might expect?

Any comments/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

the CTS and the 9500 are the same machine except the walkers are replaced with the rotors. We have harvested Camelina with our CTS and it worked well other than need to tape up some leaks.

We harvested sesame seed with ours. The way we checked for leaks was ran a large volume of water through it and wherever the water leaked the sesame seed would leak out as well. It did a really good job of cleaning and acceptable losses.
